Troubleshooting Hints - Charging System

Perform Before Beginning System Diagnosis
1. Check battery hydrometer eye before troubleshooting Charging System.
^ Green eye - battery is charged.
^ Dark eye - battery is discharged. Recharge battery.
^ Clear or yellow eye - battery fluid is low. Replace battery.
2. Check that generator BAT terminal and connector terminals are clean and tight.
3. Check generator belt for tightness.
4. Check that battery connections are clean and tight.
5. Check applicable fuses (see schematic).

Important
On the 95 Aurora, any time the battery is disconnected, it is necessary to perform the idle learn procedure once the battery is reconnected. Refer to Powertrain Management. Otherwise PCM DTC 080 sets when the vehicle is started. Powertrain Management
