Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative (-) battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system.
3. Lower or remove steering column from vehicle.
4. Three tapping screws from upper cover.
5. Upper cover.
6. Pan head screw.
7. Tilt lever knob.
8. Shift lever seal.
9. Close out knob.
^ Pry locking tabs from bearing & housing assembly and remove.
10. Three tapping screws from lower cover.
11. Lower cover.

Install or Connect

1. Lower cover.
2. Three tapping screws to lower cover.

Tighten
^ Tighten screws to 5.2 Nm (46 lb.in.).

3. Close out knob.
^ Align locking tabs with slots in bearing & housing assembly and install.
4. Shift lever seal and multi-funtion lever seal into position.
5. Tilt lever knob.
6. Pan head screw.

Tighten
^ Tighten screws to 3.4 Nm (30 lb.in.).

7. Upper cover.
8. Three tapping screws to upper cover.

Tighten
^ Tighten screws to 5.2 Nm (46 lb.in.).

9. Raise or install steering column to vehicle.
10. If all service operations are completed, enable the SIR system.
11. Negative (-) battery cable.
