Transmission Control System

Trans. Control Components:

DESCRIPTION
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors various inputs which control various transaxie functions including shift quality and transaxle diagnostics. The PCM receives various input information from sensors, switches, and components to process for use within its control program. Based on this input information, the PCM controls various transaxie output functions and devices.

INFORMATION SENSORS AND SWITCHES
The PCM uses the following information sensors to gather data for electronically controlling transaxle functions.

- Transaxle Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor.
- Transaxle pressure switch assembly.
- Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
- Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
- Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS).
- TCC brake switch.
- Turbine speed sensor.
- Transaxle Range/Park Neutral Switch.

OUTPUT INFORMATION
Based on input information, the PCM controls various transaxie output functions and devices.

- "A" shift solenoid.
- "B" shift solenoid.
- Pressure Control Solenoid (PCS).
- Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) solenoid.
