Manual Method

During this procedure, fluid level in master cylinder must be maintained.

Use a maximum of 50 lbs. pedal pressure to check pedal firmness.

1. Disconnect quick connect fittings in clutch hydraulic line. Insert quick disconnect tool No. J-36221 or equivalent and depress white plastic sleeve to separate connection.

2. Remove cap and diaphragm, and fill reservoir with DOT 3 brake fluid.

3. Remove lefthand upper secondary cowl, then remove air from supply hose by squeezing it until no more air bubbles are seen in reservoir.

4. Pump clutch pedal slowly by hand until slight resistance is felt.

5. Holding pedal pressure, bleed air from system by depressing internal valve at quick connect fitting. Do not use a sharp object.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until pedal is firm and no air bubbles are seen.

7. Reconnect clutch hydraulic line, then replace reservoir cap and diaphragm.
