Drive Belt: Service and Repair

DRIVE BELT ROUTING
Install a multiple ribbed belt following the belt routings. The grooves in the bell must match the grooves in the pulleys. The tensioner is spring loaded. After removing the belt, the tensioner will return to the tension position.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

NOTICE: Do not allow the drive belt tensioner to snap Into the "free" position. This may result in damage to tensioner.

1. Use a 1/2-inch breaker bar with a socket placed on the tensioner pulley axis bolt and rotate the tensioner to the left (counter-clockwise).

2. Belt.


INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Route belt over all the pulleys except the belt tensioner.

2. Use a 1/2 inch breaker bar with a socket placed on the tensioner pulley axis bolt and rotate the tensioner to the left (counter-clockwise).

3. Belt over the belt tensioner pulley.

4. Check the belt for correct groove tracking around each pulley.
