Spark Plug: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Make sure ignition key is "OFF."
2. Spark plug wires from plugs.


NOTE: Do not remove spark plugs when engine is warm. Clean dirt and debris from spark plug recess area.

3. Spark plugs from engine.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Spark plugs.
2. Tighten Spark plugs to 15 Nm (11 lb. ft.).

NOTE: On the 3800 engine, aluminum heat shields are used over the spark plug boots on cylinders which are close to exhaust tubing. Care should he taken to ensure these heat shields are fully seated.

3. Plug wires to proper spark plugs, use position reference noted during removal procedure.
