General Description

DESCRIPTION
This system is basically the same as Type 2 except on this type, the function of the cruise control module is performed by the PCM. The main parts of the cruise control system are the mode control switches, PCM, servo unit, vehicle speed sensor, vacuum supply, electrical and vacuum release switches, and electrical harness.

OPERATION
The cruise system uses vacuum to operate a throttle servo. The PCM monitors vehicle speed and servo position to operate the servo vacuum and vent valves to maintain desired speed.
