Main Bearing Torque Specifications

MAIN BOLTS
Start main bolts by hand. Make sure bottom of cap is parallel to bottom of channel. Tighten all caps in equal increments. Do not tighten one cap completely at a time. Tighten bolts to 70 N.m (51.80 ft. lb.) to fully seat caps. Loosen bolts 360° CCW, Then: tighten bolts to 20 N.m (14.80 ft. lb.), then 40 N.m (29.60 ft. lb.). Using J 36660, tighten bolts in steps: 35° + 35° + 40° for a total of 110°.

SIDE MAIN BOLTS
Side main bolts to 15 N.m (11 ft. lb.) + 45° using J 36660.
