Battery Removal and Replacement

Battery Retainer:




NOTICE: Always turn the ignition "OFF" when connecting or disconnecting battery cables, battery chargers or jumper cables. Failure to do so may damage the PCM or other electrical components.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Positive battery cable.
3. Bolt and retainer.
4. Battery.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Battery.
2. Retainer and retainer bolt.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb. ft.).
3. Positive cable.
Tighten
^ Positive cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
4. Negative cable.
Tighten
^ Negative cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb. ft.).
