Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

Condenser:

Tools Required:
J 38042 Dual O-Ring Joint Separator
J 39400 ACR 4 Machine

Remove or Disconnect

^ Recover refrigerant.
1. Battery.
2. Air cleaner attaching bracket screw.
3. Lines from auxiliary transmission cooler (if equipped).
4. Upper radiator panel bolts and panel.
5. Condenser inlet and outlet lines.
6. Mounting bracket bolts and brackets.
7. Upper insulators.
8. Condenser by tilting radiator toward engine.

Install or Connect

1. Condenser into position by tilting radiator toward engine.
2. Upper insulators.
3. Mounting brackets and bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb. in.).

4. Condenser inlet and outlet lines.

Tighten
^ Condenser connections to 24 N.m (18 lb. ft.).

5. Upper radiator panel and bolts.

Tighten
^ Bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb. in.).

6. Lines to auxiliary transmission cooler (if equipped).
7. Air cleaner attaching bracket and screw.
8. Battery.
^ Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
