Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair

Expansion (Orifice) Tube:

Tools Required:
J 26549-E Expansion Tube Remover
J 38042 Dual O-Ring Joint Separator
J 39400 ACR 4 Machine

Remove or Disconnect

^ Recover refrigerant.
1. Condenser outlet dual O-ring joint using J 38042.
2. Evaporator inlet dual O-ring joint using J 38042.
3. A/C line clips.
4. Expansion tube from line using J 26349-D.

Install or Connect

1. New expansion tube, with short screen toward evaporator.
2. A/C line clips alter positioning line.
3. Assemble evaporator inlet and condenser outlet dual O-ring joints simultaneously (hand tight) to assure correct line orientation, then tighten connections to specifications.

Tighten
^ Dual O-ring joint connections to 24 N.m (18 lb. ft.).

^ Evacuate, charge and leak test A/C system.
