TABLE #1 - DATA LIST:

The Instrument Cluster, in addition to being controller of the UART Data Line, also has hardwired inputs. Some of these inputs are used as display information for the cluster gages and indicators while other inputs are converted into serial data and transmitted on the UART Data Line.

The scan tool can also list an Instrument Cluster data list called the DATA LIST on the scan tool (Refer to TABLE #1). This list Shows the status of the hardwired connections made to the Instrument Cluster and can be very useful in diagnosis. This table is broken into display pairs as the scan tool lists two function descriptions per screen.
