84. Intake Manifold Installation - Upper

1. Install the upper intake manifold gaskets.
2. Install the upper intake manifold.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the upper intake manifold bolts and studs. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent to the threads.

- Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts and studs to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





4. Install the coolant tube.
5. Install the spark plugs.

- Tighten the spark plugs to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).

6. Install the electronic ignition control module.
7. Install the electronic ignition control module nuts and bolts.

- Tighten the electronic ignition control module nuts and bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

8. Install the spark plug wires.





9. Install the EGR valve pipe and gasket.

- Tighten the EGR valve pipe to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)

10. Install the EGR valve and gasket.
11. Install the EGR valve bolts.

- Tighten the EGR valve bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





12. Install the map sensor bracket and bolts.

- Tighten the MAP sensor bracket bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

13. Install the MAP sensor.
14. Install the MAP sensor bolts.

- Tighten the MAP sensor bolts to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.).

15. Install the MAP sensor electrical connector.





16. Install the vacuum lines to the upper intake manifold.
17. Install the throttle cable bracket.
18. Install the throttle cable bracket bolts.

- Tighten the throttle cable bracket bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
