Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement (Oldsmobile)

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper screws from the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
2. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate from the instrument panel pulling up and out to release the lower retainers.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the trip reset switch.
4. Remove the trip reset switch from the instrument panel cluster trim plate, using a small flat-bladed tool, if required.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the trip reset switch to the instrument panel cluster trim plate, pressing into place until fully seated, if required.
2. Connect the electrical connector to the trip reset switch.
3. Position the instrument panel cluster trim plate retainer tabs to the slots in the instrument panel pressing down and in until fully seated.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the upper screws to the instrument panel cluster trim plate.

Tighten the instrument panel cluster trim plate upper screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
