The microprocessor provides for system self-tests. The self-tests result in diagnostic code displays.

Malfunctions in the following circuits are identified when the control is set to the diagnostic mode:
^ The inside temperature sensor circuit
^ The outside temperature sensor circuit
^ The temperature valve control circuit
