Hot Mode

The scan tool displays On or Off. The PCM has the ability to disable 3 injectors during an engine overtemperature condition. The engine enters this mode of operation if the ECT reaches 131°C (268°F). This protection mode permits the PCM to alternate between groups of 3 cylinders, thereby reducing engine temperature. On indicates that the engine is operating in the alternating 3 cylinder mode.
