Cornering Lamp: Service and Repair

HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY OR HEADLAMP BULB AND/OR CORNERING, SIDEMARKER, PARK, TURN SIGNAL BULB REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Halogen Bulb Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the front air deflector.
3. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while releasing the retainers.
4. Lift up the headlamp retainers to release.
5. Remove the headlamp from the mounting panel.




6. Remove the sidemarker lamp bulb/socket from the headlamp by rotating counterclockwise.




7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp.




8. Remove the [1][2]turn signal lamp bulb/socket from the headlamp by rotating counterclockwise.




9. Remove the rubber access cover(s) from behind the headlamp bulb(s) to be replaced.




10. Rotate the headlamp bulb base counterclockwise to release it from the headlamp.
11. Remove the headlamp bulb from the headlamp.




12. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp bulb.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp bulb.




2. Install the headlamp bulb to the headlamp.
3. Rotate the headlamp bulb base clockwise to secure it to the headlamp.




4. Install the rubber access cover(s) to the headlamp.




5. Install the [1][2]turn signal lamp bulb/socket to the headlamp.
6. Rotate the [1][2]turn signal lamp bulb/socket clockwise to secure it to the headlamp.




7. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp.




8. Install the sidemarker lamp bulb/socket to the headlamp.
9. Rotate the sidemarker lamp bulb/socket clockwise to secure it to the headlamp.




10. Position the headlamp mounting tabs to the slots in the upper fascia support and the fender reinforcement.
11. Apply light pressure to the headlamp lens to hold the headlamp in place while installing the retainers.
12. Align the headlamp retainers over the headlamp mounting tabs, then press the retainers down until fully seated.
13. Inspect the headlamp for proper fit.
14. Install the front air deflector.
15. Close the hood.
16. Check the headlamp aim, If a new headlamp was installed, or if service or repairs in the front end area may have disturbed the headlamp mounting brackets. Refer to Headlamp Aiming.
