THEFT DETERRENT CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (Cylinder Rotates) or Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (Unable To Rotate Cylinder) in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
3. Remove the upper steering column shroud.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
5. Pull the PASS-Key(R)III module from the ignition lock cylinder housing.
6. Remove the electrical connector and wires from the steering column.
7. Remove the PASS-Key(R)III module from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the PASS-Key(R)III module to the vehicle.
2. Install the electrical connector and wires to the column.
3. Slide the PASS-Key(R)III module over the ignition lock cylinder housing.
4. Connect the electrical connector at the base to the steering column.
5. Install the upper column shroud.
6. Install the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (Cylinder Rotates) or Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle (Unable To Rotate Cylinder) in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.
7. Install the instrument panel knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
