Dimmer Switch: Service and Repair

INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) DIMMER SWITCH REPLACEMENT (OLDSMOBILE)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
2. Use a small flat-bladed tool to remove the Instrument panel (IP) outer air outlet.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the switches.




4. Remove the IP dimmer switch (2) from the trim plate using a small flat-bladed tool on the back side to release the retainer tabs.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the IP dimmer switch (2). Press the switch into place until fully seated.




2. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the switches.
3. Install the IP outer air outlet. Press the outlet into place until fully seated.
