Condition
Some customers may comment that the right hand sliding side door is difficult to open.
Cause
A new design rear latch is closer to the front handle than the previous latch causing the lock rod to the rear latch to be approximately 4.0 mm too long.
Correction
1. Remove the door trim and partial water deflector.
Refer to the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual (SI Document ID # 798410)
2. Remove the lock rod to the rear latch at the front lock rod clip.
3. With no tension on the rod, it should match up with the hole in the lock rod clip.
4. If the rod is forward of the lock rod clip, the rod is too long and needs to be replaced.
5. After verifying the operation of the door, reinstall the water deflector and door trim.
