EVAP Canister Replacement (Short Wheel Base)

EVAPORATIVE EMISSION (EVAP) CANISTER REPLACEMENT (SHORT WHEEL BASE)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.




2. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) vent hose (3), purge pipe (5), and vapor pipe (4) from the EVAP canister (1).
3. Remove the forward attaching nut from the EVAP canister bracket.
4. Remove the two rear attaching nuts (2) from the EVAP canister bracket at the fuel tank.
5. Lower the EVAP canister assembly.
6. Pull the rear canister bracket flange away from the EVAP canister.
7. Lift the rear of the EVAP canister from the bracket to release the forward tab.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the EVAP canister into the forward tab of the canister bracket.
2. Press the rear of the EVAP canister down in order to engage the rear bracket tabs.




3. Install the EVAP canister assembly to the fuel tank.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the two attaching nuts (2) to the EVAP canister bracket at the fuel tank studs.

Tighten
Tighten the attaching nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the forward attaching nut to the canister bracket.

Tighten
Tighten the attaching nuts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Connect the EVAP vent hose (3), purge pipe (5), and vapor pipe (4) to the EVAP canister (1).
7. Lower the vehicle.
