Subject: ABRASIVE FRONT BRAKE PADS/FRONT SUSPENSION WISHBONE BUSHINGS
NOTE: This Service Bulletin Supercedes S.B. No. 141.
Abrasive front brake pads and improved front suspension wishbone bushings are available from P.M.A. as a mandatory alternative to brake rotor machining or replacement.
For verified complaints of brake pedal pulsation and/or steering wheel shimmy under brake application, the brake pads, bushings and washers listed below are to be utilized for warranty repairs.

4250.22 Abrasive brake pads for 505 Turbodiesel (XD2S-XD3T).

Bendix Brakes
4250.21 Abrasive brake pads for 505 Fuel Injection (XN6).

3561.09 x 2 Front wishbone bushings for all 505's.

9730.67 "Kluber Proba Altemp" lubricant (or Equivalent).
When installing abrasive brake pads, fitting of brake pad insulators is also suggested. Brake caliper slides should also be cleaned and lubricated at this time.

the new front wishbone bushings and washers should be installed on the left and right side. Apply a dab of "Kluber Proba Altemp" lubricant (P.N. 9730.67) (or Equivalent) on contact faces of bushing and washer.
Shown below are the types of bushings used to date. If changing from one type of bushing to another, i.e. Type I to Type II or III or Type II to Type III, both sides MUST be changed to maintain proper suspension characteristics.

This new bushing will be available under P.N. 3561.09 and must only be fitted with flat washer P.N. 3524.23. Currently only II fitting is available under P.N. 3561.09.
If changing I or II to type III, change both.
Apply a dab of "KLUBER PROBA ALTEMP" lubricant on contact faces of bushing and washer. (P.N. 9730.67).
NOTE: During the first few miles of operation, the pulsation, shimmy, and noise level may increase noticeably until the abrasive brake pad fine grinding action on the rotor is completed.
A 10 mile road test, applying the brakes several time is required prior to delivering the vehicle back to the owner.
WARRANTY INFORMATION: For Warranty Claim Preparation and Submission the following Damage Code, Main Operation Number, and Time Allowance is to be used.
