Fig. 30 Cylinder head installation using guide pins & centering dowels:

1. Drive centering dowels into their holes until they bottom on 3 mm guide pins placed in (c), Fig. 30. Install cylinder head gaskets, cylinder heads, and oiled cylinder head bolts, then remove guide pins from under centering dowels.

2. Torque bolts to 44 ft. lbs. in sequence illustrated in Fig. 31. Loosen bolts one at a time and retorque to 15 ft. lbs., then angle torque 105°.
