CHECKING THE DETONATION SENSOR

Installation precautions
- Mounting to the block without any washers.
- Use normal holding LOCTITE
- Tightening torque for the detonation sensor (M132): 1.3 mdaN ± 0.2 (9 ft.lbs. ± 1)
- Positioning: connector facing as shown.

Electrical checking
- Detonation sensor connected.
- Hook up an ohmeter between pin 12 and pin 13 of the ignition E.C.U. (H96) connector. The resistance should be between 270 and 330 K.ohms.
- If this value is not reached after checking the continuity and insulation of wires 8 and M58 replace the detonation sensor.


DETONATION AND IGNITION SYSTEM FAULT LED INDICATOR

Installation precautions
The opening (1) for the LED holder (2) in the instrument cluster, has 2 different size cut-outs. When reinstalling the LED holder, insert the resistor (3) through the wider cut-out.
