A. Remove Liftgate Trim Panel

1. Open and raise liftgate.





2. Remove the two speaker grille/courtesy lamp assemblies (Figure 1). Disconnect the courtesy lamp wiring connector and set the assembly aside.

3. Remove the plugs at the ends of the assist handle and remove the handle attaching screws (Figure 1).

4. Remove the two plugs at the lower comers of the trim panel and remove the lower trim panel screws (Figure 1).

5. Remove the two trim panel screws located in the speaker grille openings (Figure 1).

6. For 1994 and 1995 MY only: Remove the two plugs near the speaker grille openings in the center of the trim panel and remove the screws (Figure 1).

7. Remove the six trim panel screws along the top edge and upper sides of the trim panel (Figure 1).

8. Disengage the frog-leg clips around the perimeter of the trim panel and remove the trim panel from the liftgate.
