7 Fault Message-Inj 1 Peak Current & Inj 2 Peak Current

PERFORM NO START TEST 1 BEFORE PROCEEDING.
1. Disconnect engine harness connectors to all injectors.
2. Inspect terminals for damage, repairing as necessary.
3. With diagnostic readout box connected, enter into ``Actuate Outputs'' test and select ``Fuel Injectors #1.'' Press the Volt/Ohm button to enter into voltmeter mode.
4. Touch voltmeter probe to dark green/black wire at each injector wiring harness connector.
5. Voltmeter should read at least 10 volts at each connector. Repair open in dark green/black wire to connectors that do not read at least 10 volts, then perform Test 16.
6. If voltmeter reads more than 10 volts at each connector, connect and reconnect injectors one and two while listening for clicking sound.
7. If only one injector clicked, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect wiring harness connector from injector that did not click, then using an analog voltmeter, connect leads to injector.
b. If voltmeter shows a slight pulse in voltage, replace the injector and perform Test 16.
c. If voltmeter does not show a pulse in voltage, repair open in white wire to injector and perform Test 16.
8. If both injectors did not click, proceed as follows:
a. Turn ignition Off and disconnect SMEC 14-way connector.
b. Inspect terminals for damage. If terminals are damaged, repair as necessary, then proceed to Test 16.
c. If terminals are satisfactory, connect an ohmmeter between cavity 9 of 14-way connector and ground. Ensure injectors are disconnected.
d. If ohmmeter shows continuity, repair short to ground in white wire of 14-way connector, then proceed to Test 16.
e. If ohmmeter shows no continuity, connect ohmmeter between cavity 9 of 14-way connector and white wire at injectors 1 and 2.
f. If ohmmeter now shows continuity, replace the SMEC and perform Test 16.
g. If ohmmeter still shows no continuity, repair open in white wire of 14-way connector, then proceed to Test 16.
9. If both injectors clicked, select ``Fuel Injectors #2'' on diagnostic readout box. Reconnect, then disconnect injectors 3 and 4 and listen for clicking.
10. If only one injector clicked, proceed as follows:
a. Disconnect wiring harness connector from injector that did not click, then using an analog voltmeter, connect leads to injector.
b. If voltmeter shows a slight pulse in voltage, replace the injector and perform Test 16.
c. If voltmeter does not show a pulse in voltage, repair open in tan wire to injector and perform Test 16.
11. If both injectors did not click, proceed as follows:
a. Turn ignition Off and disconnect SMEC 14-way connector.
b. Inspect terminals for damage. If terminals are damaged, repair as necessary, then proceed to Test 16.
c. If terminals are satisfactory, connect an ohmmeter between cavity 10 of 14-way connector and ground. Ensure injectors are disconnected.
d. If ohmmeter shows continuity, repair short to ground in tan wire of 14-way connector, then proceed to Test 16.
e. If ohmmeter shows no continuity, connect ohmmeter between cavity 10 of 14-way connector and tan wire at injectors 3 and 4.
f. If ohmmeter now shows continuity, replace the SMEC and perform Test 16.
g. If ohmmeter still shows no continuity, repair open in tan wire of 14-way connector, then proceed to Test 16.
