A. Remove Liftgate Trim Panel

1. Open and raise liftgate.





2. Remove the two courtesy lamp lenses (Figure 6). Remove the lamp assemblies and push them through the trim panel hole.

3. Remove the plugs at the ends of the assist handle and remove the handle attaching screws (if equipped).

4. For 1987 through 1990 MY only Remove the two screws at the lower comers of the trim panel (Figure 6).

5. Remove the five push pins along the top edge of the trim panel (Figure 6).

6. Disengage the 17 clips around the perimeter of the trim panel and remove the trim panel from the liftgate.
