Operation of the DRB II

Once connected to the underhood diagnostic connector, the ignition switch is turned to the run position. A Chrysler logo and system level number similar to the following will be displayed.

NOTE: Use care not to touch the keypad during the DRB II power-up sequence as an error will result.

After a few seconds, the display will change to read the following:

SELECT MODEL YEAR
1990

Press the down (yes) key to select that year. After the model year is selected the DRB II display will read:

SELECT SYSTEM ENGINES

Other systems such as Transmission or Body may be selected using the F1 or F2 keys on the DRB II.

Pressing the down (yes) key will display:

SELECT FUNCTION
ENGINE DIAGNOSTICS
3.0L MPI V-6

NOTE: Engine displacement on the display will vary according to application.

press the down (yes) key again.

SELECT TEST
READ FAULT DATA
PRESS F1,F2 FOR MORE

From this point, you may drop into a display of stored fault messages by pressing the YES key. If there is more than one message in memory, the fault that occurred most recently will be displayed first.

Pressing the up (no) key from here moves you back up to the SELECT TEST level. Moving right or left while at SELECT TEST level will make the following tests available:

READ FAULT DATA view any stored Engine Controller fault codes here ( Present position)

ERASE FAULT DATA Drop into this area to erase stored Engine Controller fault codes.

READ INPUT STATES Allows you to view the logical' states of various inputs to the Engine Controller.

READ OUTPUT STATES Allows you to view the energized/de-energized" states of various Engine Controller output devices.

ACTUATE SOLENOIDS & RELAYS The Engine Controller toggles" various solenoids and relays.

ENGINE PARAMETERS Values determined by engine controller processes.

ACTUATE OUTPUTS The Engine Controller "toggles" various output devices.

READ SENSOR VOLTAGES Read engine sensors in volts.

READ SENSOR VALUES Read engine sensors in actual values (deg.. psi.. etc).

SET ENGINE RPM Temporarily adjust engine idle electronically.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS Set minimum airflow idle speed and other special tests

SYSTEM MONITORS Monitor theft alarm status and other systems.

EMISSIONS EMR TEST Reset emission reminder lamp and mileage. (Trucks & Minivans only)
