3 Speed Automatic

Fluid and filter changes are not required for average vehicle use. Severe usage such as commercial type usage or prolonged operation in city traffic requires that fluid be changed and bands adjusted every 15,000 miles.

1. Raise vehicle and support vehicle. Place a suitable drain pan below transmission oil pan.
2. Loosen transmission oil pan attaching bolts and allow fluid to drain, then remove oil pan.
3. Replace filter and adjust bands, if necessary.
4. Install oil pan and gasket. Torque attaching bolts to 40 inch lbs.
5. Add four quarts of approved automatic transmission fluid.
6. Start engine and allow to idle for approximately six minutes, then with parking brake applied, move selector lever momentarily to each position. Place selector lever in Park and check fluid level. Add fluid to bring level to Add mark.
7. Recheck fluid level after transmission has reached normal operating temperature.
