SYMPTOM/CONDITION

A carburetor air horn assembly is now available to repair sticking or binding choke blades on subject model vehicles.

PARTS REQUIRED

Refer to the attached charts and illustrations (Figures A and B) for the appropriate part number and special installation instructions..
REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Remove air cleaner assembly.

2. Remove fuel lines, and fuel reservoir (where applicable).

3. Remove three altitude compensator lines from carburetor (if applicable), and bowl vent hose.

4. Disconnect and remove choke operating rod and choke rod seal.

5. Remove vacuum control valve and filter assembly (if applicable).

6. Remove wiring clip from top of carburetor

7. Remove the 02 feedback solenoid from air horn (2 screws).

8. Remove the air horn mounting screws (5) and separate air horn assembly from carburetor body.

9. Transfer needle and seat assembly and float to the new air horn and set float level to specifications if necessary.
10. Cap altitude compensator nipples (if required) and install fuel inlet restrictor (if required).

11. Reverse the procedure for installing the replacement air horn.
