Effective in October, 1987, with transaxle No. EX4200 and later, the diameter of the synchronizer ring cone used in the KM200 series transaxle was decreased by 1 mm (.03937 in.). This change was made to improve durability. Due to this change, the cone diameter of each speed gear was also decreased by 1 mm (.03937 in.) The new synchronizer ring cone is not interchangeable in earlier built transaxles unless it is changed together with its new speed gear. An Old and New Part Number Identification Chart along with a Synchronizer Ring Identification Chart and a Speed Gear Identification Chart are included in this Technical Service Bulletin for your convenience.
