SYMPTOM/CONDITION

Erratic idle, or no fast idle with Fault Code 25 in EFI selfdiagnostic system. California emission vehicles will have the "check engine" lamp illuminated along with this condition.

PARTS REQUIRED

1 Tie Wrap PN 6015756

REPAIR PROCEDURE

This repair involves tie wrapping the throttle body wiring harness away from the edge of the valve cover.
1. Carefully inspect the throttle body wiring harness for abrasion on the taped portions of the harness (Figure 1).
2. Repair any damaged wiring insulation with friction tape.

3. Attach the tie wrap (PN 6015756) around the throttle body wiring harness and the PCV nipple on the valve cover.

4. Erase the Fault Code 25 as outlined in the Diagnostic Test Procedure, and check that the fault code does not reoccur.

5. If Fault Code 25 reoccurs, continue with repair as outlined in Diagnostic Test Procedure.
