When installing piston and rod assembly, valve cut must face toward manifold side of engine, Fig. 23. Turbocharged engine pistons will have an arrow or dimple toward front of engine. Oil hole on connecting rod must face timing belt side of engine.

Refer to Fig. 24 and 25, for piston specifications and ring end gap positions.

Connecting rod side clearance should be 0.005 - 0.013 inch.
