Engine Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVING AND INSTALLING TEMPERATURE SENSOR II (ENGINE TEMPERATURE)

Removing




1. Pull out arrest on holder of plugs and disconnect upper plug (1).




2. Remove upper grommet.
Pull out sensor wires from slotted end of grommet.
Remove lower grommet.




3. Unscrew temperature sensor with Special Tool 9222. Wire is connected permanently on sensor and consequently will also be turned while unscrewing the sensor.

Installing

Note: Apply a light coat of white Molykote HTP Paste on threads of temperature sensor.

Tightening torque: 15 Nm (11 ftlb).

A loud "click" must be heard when connecting the plug.
