Remove and Replace



FUEL PUMPS

Front

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove shield from underneath vehicle.
3. Pinch fuel suction hose with suitable clamp, then loosen attaching clamp and disconnect suction hose from pump.
4. Pull off caps, then disconnect electrical connector.
5. Unscrew capped nut, counterholding adapter, then remove pressure line.
6. Loosen strap, then remove fuel pump.
7. Reverse procedure to install, using new seals.

Rear

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Unscrew capped nut, counterholding adapter, then remove pressure line.
3. Pull off caps, then disconnect electrical connector.
4. Loosen suction hose, counterholding the adapter. Drain escaping fuel into suitable container.
5. Remove fuel pump from console.
6. Loosen hose clamp, then remove fuel pump from holder.
7. Reverse procedure to install, using new seals.


OXYGEN SENSOR

1. On 911 models, locate oxygen sensor plug (left side of engine compartment, just below the ignition coil).
2. Disconnect electrical connector from plug, then push grommet and plug through grommet hole.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove left rear wheel, then exhaust shield.
5. Locate oxygen sensor on exhaust manifold, remove safety plug from sensor, then the sensor.
6. Coat threads of new sensor with anti-seize compound, using care not to get any in the sensor slots, then install sensor.
