Connecting Rod Weight Classes




CONNECTING ROD WEIGHT CLASSES

Connecting rods are available in different weight classes.

Pertinent weight class can be identified with the last digit of the part number.

This final digit is inscribed in the shaft of connecting rods, which are supplied as spare parts.





Note: The connecting rods installed in one engine must not differ in weight by more than 9 grams. Weight a complete connecting rod, but without bearing shells, to determine the weight class.

Connecting rod codes for service sector parts are inscribed electrically.
