Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

1984 & EARLY 1985 944

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove cover from wiper motor.
3. Disconnect wiper linkage.
4. Disconnect electrical connections.
5. Remove motor retaining bolts.
6. Remove frame mounting bolt and lift frame slightly.
7. Remove motor. Install electrical connections and turn on ignition before securing linkage. Position arms in off position and install linkage.




924S, LATE 1985 & 1986-88 944

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove windshield wiper arms.
3. Pull off rubber seal with cover from above and loosen cement of cover below windshield.
4. Disconnect wiper motor electrical connector.
5. Remove wiper assembly attaching screws and the assembly.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
