Disassembling and Installing


Disassembling

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Loosen the blower and swing to one side.






3. Remove the cover from the steering shaft and undo the fastening screw for the ball Joint.






4. Remove the steering wheel.

5. Remove the horn contact and trim panels.






6. Remove the combination switch.


7. Bore out the breakaway screws for the ignition steering lock.






8. Undo the fastening nut and set screw and remove the ignition steering lock.

9. Remove the rev-counter.

10. Chisel open the breakaway screws for the protective tube.






11. Take the protective tube out of the switch- board.


12. Remove the circlips and press out the steering shaft downwards. Remove the lower bearing first and then the upper bearing.

Assembling

1. Insert the circlip in the protective tube and drive in the lower bearing to the stop with a suitable pipe section. Secure the lower bearing.






2. Insert the upper bearing and drive into the stop. Then install circlip.






3. Mount the protective tube into the vehicle sliding the steering shaft onto the ball joint in the correct position, mount breakaway screws.

4. Install steering ignition lock.

5. First secure the ball joint then break off the breakaway screws of protective tube and ignition steering lock.

6. Install the combination switch and mount trim panels with horn contact.

7. Install rev-counter and mount the steering wheel.


8. Install the blower and reconnect the battery.


9. Check all components for correct function.
