1987/88 Porsche 944S vehicles
Providing fuse protection for Steering Pump Switch
Dear Porsche Owner:
Our records indicate that you are the owner of a Porsche model 944S. Porsche AG has determined that in some cases the Steering Pump Switch could break internally causing a short circuit and subsequent engine wiring harness damage.
This condition will manifest itself as insufficient idle speed and/or engine stall with no restart.
A wiring modification with fusing has been developed by Porsche AG. In order to insure proper service life of the vehicle and to prevent possible inconveniences, this modification must be performed on your vehicle.
Please contact your Porsche dealer as soon as possible for an appointment to have the necessary work performed at our cost. Replacement parts should be available at your Porsche dealer.
The estimated time to perform the necessary work is approximately two (2) hours.
