Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Front Suspension

Accurate front axle height adjustment is critical to toe-in, camber, and caster adjustments. Ensure tire pressures are at their specified values, fuel tank is full, spare tire is in place, and a weight approximately the same as the driver, positioned on the driver's seat.

CAMBER & CASTER, ADJUST

Fig. 2 Front Caster & Camber Adjustment. 924S & 944 Models:

1. Adjust camber by turning eccentric bolt on lower strut mounting.
2. On models w/steel control arms, adjust caster by moving rear of suspension control arm from side to side.
3. On models w/aluminum control arms, adjust caster by loosening self locking nuts and turning caster eccentric until caster is within specifications, Fig. 2, then torque nuts to 62 ft.lbs.
