Clutch Hydraulic System: Description and Operation
Flooring the clutch pedal moves the pistons in the master and slave cylinders, so that release fork (1) is pressed in direction of the clutch (arrow). Since the release fork has a pivot point, release bearing (2) is pulled away from the clutch (pulled clutch). This takes diaphragm spring (7) along, takes pressure off of the contact plate and declutches the transmission.
