(CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION)Subject:
Recall Campaign L01 - Replacement of Fuel Hose/Fuel Rail
Dear Porsche Owner:
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Porsche AG has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1985 to 1988 Model Year 924S, 944, 944 Turbo and 944S models.
Due to hardening of the material on a fuel line hose between the fuel rail and pressure regulator, fuel leaks can develop between the hose and metal pipe fittings. The leaking fuel may ignite on the hot exhaust system and create an engine compartment fire.
In order to eliminate the risk of engine compartment fire, all cars involved will receive a fuel hose made out of different material. Therefore, you should arrange for an appointment with your Porsche dealer, as soon as possible, to have the required repair performed.
The necessary parts to perform this Recall should be available at your Porsche dealer. The estimated time to perform this repair is approximately 1/2 to 1-1/2 hours depending on the vehicle model year. However, your Porsche may have to be left longer at your Porsche dealership since the engine has to cool down before work can commence. This repair will be performed free of charge to you.
If your Porsche dealer fails or is unable to perform this repair within a reasonable period of time, you may call or write to:
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. Administrator

If a fire should occur, to avoid personal injury, the driver should stop the car, turn off the ignition and all occupants should promptly exit the car to a safe location. Switching off the ignition cuts off the fuel supply and in most instances extinguishes the fire.
We regret any inconvenience this Recall may cause; nevertheless, we are confident you understand our interest in your safety. Therefore, we urge you to make prompt arrangements so that the necessary work may be performed without delay.
