Central Tube

Central Tube / Central Shaft

The central tube provides a rigid connection between the rear mounted manual transmission and front-mounted front axle differential. Drive is from the transfer box in the G64 manual transmission via rear clamping sleeve (5) to central shaft (4).

The 25 mm diameter central shaft runs on three bearings in the central tube. Bearings (2) concern grooved ball bearings with seals on both ends and lubricating grease for the entire service life. Another clamping sleeve (1) is used for connection with the front axle differential.

Shift/Shift Operation

The central tube has openings in the middle. A sliding sleeve (6) is used in this area as protection for the central tube and as a guide for slide (7), which provides connection with the shift lever.

An adjustable guide tube (8) connects the central tube with the shift lever with help of ball heads and ball sockets.

Connection on the manual transmission is accomplished with main shift rod (9).
