Subject:
ATF Flow Noises on Cold Tiptronic Transmission
ATTENTION:
Service Manager/Service Technician
Models Affected:
911 Carrera Model Year 1995 with Tiptronic Transmission
Concern:
In isolated cases, ATF flow noises may occur on cars with Tiptronic Transmissions in a cold condition or, when driving, a scraping noise might be noticeable.
Repair Procedure:
Increase the ATF level in the transmission. This means at 80~C (176~F ATF temp) the ATF quantity has to be increased to 15 mm above the 80~C maximum mark on the inspection glass on the side of the transmission.
In addition, the ATF lines near the transmission must have a minimum clearance of 20 mm to the body. If not, the lines should be slightly bent outward.
Note:
The same procedure should be applied in complaint cases on the 911 Carrera 2 model year 1990 to 1994 with Tiptronic Transmission.
