General information:
With model year 1994, a new wheel security system is installed on all Porsche vehicles from the factory.

Wheel Lock Assembly:





The new system requires the use of a coded socket for removal and installation of the wheel security nuts (see figure).

The coded wheel socket is shipped with the vehicle and is kept in a plastic bag in the glove compartment.

Received with this Technical Bulletin is a pocket folder containing information on how to obtain master socket sets, replacement coded wheel lock sockets and security lug nuts.

Master socket sets (30 different codes) are not a mandatory tool requirement. However, for the purpose of identifying wheel lock codes where the coded socket is lost or missing and for customer convenience, Porsche dealers are advised to have the master socket set on hand is kept in a plastic bag in the glove compartment.
