Short Test

Short test
1 = Secondary air
2 = Tank vent.

This menu can be used to initiate the diagnosis routines for the secondary air injection and tank ventilation systems.

The secondary air injection system diagnostic routine can only be initiated if the following conditions are met:
- secondary air injection system diagnostic routine not yet completed in this cycle
- no fault in onboard power supply
- all injection valves operating correctly
- no switchover to substitute load value
- no misfiring damaging to catalytic converter
- no tank ventilation system fault
- no hot film air mass sensor fault
- no load detection system fault
- The vehicle must not be at an elevation in excess of 2,400 m.
- oxygen sensors upstream from catalytic converter ready for operation
- no EVAP canister purge valve end stage fault
- mass air flow < 100 kg/h
- engine temperature > 50°C

If diagnosis is initiated, the following display appears:

Secondary air
USVK: X.XXX V
USVK2: X.XXX V
interrupt: N.

For tank ventilation diagnosis, the following conditions must be met:
- vehicle at standstill
- engine at idle
- engine temperature > 80°C

If diagnosis is initiated, the following display appears:

Tank vent
DFRDTE: x.xxx
DQSDTE: xx.x kg/h
interrupt: N.

The EVAP canister purge valve is opened. If additional fuel or air is now inducted through the EVAP canister, this is corrected by the air/fuel controller. This correction is shown as an air/fuel controller adaptation (DFRDTE). If the air/fuel controller selling does not change, there must be a change in the air selling (DQSDTE) of the IAC valve.
