Fault Code 5506

Electrical System (Rate-of-turn Sensor)
The fault is stored in the event of a fault in the electrical system of the rate-of-turn sensor or a voltage drop.

Diagnostic conditions
- Vehicle speed is greater than 6 km/h

Possible cause of fault
- Vehicle voltage less than 8.2 V
- Short circuit to B+/ground or open circuit in control unit circuit
- Rate-of-turn sensor faulty
- PSM control unit faulty

Affected pins
Pin 21 and pin 39

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

Work Instruction 1 - 5:

NOTE:
- Before troubleshooting, first erase the fault memory and perform a test drive.
- If fault codes 5505 and 5506 are displayed together, then voltage drops can be assumed.
