Solenoid Valve 1 - Open Circuit/Short Circuit to Ground, Short Circuit to B+
P0753Solenoid valve 1 - Open circuit/short circuit to ground, short circuit to B+
Function
The solenoid valves are accommodated on the valve chamber. They control the function of the automatic transmission via the electronic transmission control system.
Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on (only for short circuit to B+)
- Vehicle driving (all fault types)

Diagnosis procedure
NOTE: The function of the solenoid valves can be checked with Porsche System Tester 2 (drive links/solenoid valve 1/2/3). The triggering contact of the valves is perceptible as a clicking sound near the transmission.
1 Check solenoid valve with wiring.
1. Pull off Tiptronic control module connector.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and pin 52 (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and pin 52, solenoid valve 3 pin 32 and pin 52).
Indication: 34 Ohms±10%
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for continuity.
1. Additionally disconnect connector on transmission.
2. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and transmission connector pin 8 (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and pin 9, solenoid valve 3 pin 32 and pin 4).
Indication: 0...5 Ohms
If Infinity Ohm is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to ground.
1. Connect ohmmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and ground (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and ground).
Indication: Infinity Ohm
If 0...5 Ohms is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
2 Check wires from Tiptronic control module to transmission connector for short circuit to plus.
1. Switch on ignition.
2. Connect voltmeter to Tiptronic control module connector pin 30 and ground (solenoid valve 2 pin 33 and ground).
Indication: 0 Volt
If battery voltage is indicated, check wiring harness for crushing and chafing damage.
Fault overview
General information
- Never pull off or push on the control module connector with the ignition switched on.
- Stored faults can be erased only with the Porsche System Tester 2.
- Faults may be stored under certain circumstances if, for troubleshooting purposes, electrical connections are loosened or disconnected with the ignition switched on.
- If terminal 15 (pin 54/55) or terminal 30 (pin 26) fails, the "Reduced driving program" will be activated. It is not possible to start diagnosis in this case.
- Erase the fault memory with the Porsche System Tester 2 and perform a test drive each time after performing troubleshooting or repairs. During the test drive, drive the vehicle under different loads and at different speeds so that all shift operations (manual and automatic programs) take place at least once.
- After the test drive, read out the fault memory with the Porsche System Tester 2.
