52 Torque converter clutch impermissible closure
Checks are carried out to ascertain whether a hydraulic or mechanical malfunction of the torque converter clutch or of the PWM solenoid valve exists causing the clutch to jam. The diagnosis checks whether the torque converter clutch is closed by comparing the calculated turbine speed with the engine speed in the planned status, torque converter clutch open.

Diagnosis conditions
- Ignition on
- No speed n2 fault
- No speed n3 fault
- No CAN fault
- No DME fault
- No implausible CAN signal engine speed
- Engine speed > 450 rpm
- No implausible CAN signal engine torque
- No active gearshift
- Gear 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 selected
- Converter status = open

Possible fault cause
- Torque converter faulty
