Spark Plug: Service and Repair
Replacement Of Spark Plugs
1. Jack up the vehicle at the take-up points provided.
2. Remove the 2 fastening screws (M6 x 20) of the shields on the cylinder heads and remove the plates.
3. Disconnect connection cable of the ignition coils.
4. Undo the two fastening screws (M6 x 25) of the plug coils and remove the 6 plug coils.
5. Unscrew the spark plugs using the spark-plug wrench.
6. Replace spark plugs. Tighten new spark plugs to 30 Nm (22 ftlb.), tighten remounted sparkplugs to 25 Nm (18.5 ftlb.).
7. Push on plug coils and tighten the fastening screws (M6 x 25) to 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.). Subsequently push on the connecting cable of the plug coils.
8. Refit the two shields and tighten the fastening screws to 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).
9. Lower vehicle.
